Review of how to form the diphthong “eye”: The diphthong "eye" is made up of the vowel sounds "ah" and "ee" said together to form one syllable. Begin by opening your mouth and lowering the back of your tongue for "ah", and finish by making a smile and pressing the sides of your tongue high in your mouth against your upper side teeth for "ee."

Practice the following paragraph. It was time for the big exam. I always trymy best and do well, but I knew this exam would be difficult. After a week of review with my professor, some of the information was still difficult to understand. Myeyes were blurry and I began to wonder whyI was doing this. Was it the right thing? Only time would tell. In the meantime, I sat and studied in mynice comfortable chair and hoped for the best.
